All users—both Clients and Service Providers—are expected to:
- Communicate Professionally: Use clear, respectful, and constructive language in all interactions. Respond to messages promptly and keep project stakeholders informed.
- Be Honest and Transparent: Provide accurate information in profiles, job postings, bids, and project deliverables. Disclose relevant experience, qualifications, and any potential conflicts of interest.
- Honor Commitments: Meet agreed-upon deadlines, deliver work as specified, and honor payment terms. If circumstances change, communicate promptly and work toward fair solutions.
- Respect Intellectual Property: Protect confidential information, respect copyright and licensing agreements, and only share work you have rights to distribute.
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Leave honest, fair reviews that help the community make informed decisions. Base feedback on actual project experience.
3. Expectations by User Type
For Clients:
- Write clear, detailed job descriptions with realistic expectations and budgets
- Respond to bids and questions in a timely manner
- Provide necessary project materials and feedback promptly
- Release payment for completed milestones as agreed
- Treat service providers as professional partners, not subordinates
For Service Providers:
- Accurately represent your skills, experience, and availability
- Submit thoughtful, customized bids that address project requirements
- Deliver high-quality work that meets agreed specifications
- Communicate proactively about progress, challenges, and timelines
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and project details
4. Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination:
- Harassment and Discrimination: Any form of harassment, bullying, threats, or discriminatory behavior based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
- Fraud and Deception: Misrepresenting qualifications, delivering plagiarized or AI-generated work without disclosure, creating fake reviews, or engaging in any deceptive practices
- Platform Circumvention: Attempting to conduct transactions outside the platform to avoid fees, soliciting direct contact information to bypass our payment protection system
- Spam and Solicitation: Sending unsolicited promotional messages, mass-messaging users, or posting irrelevant content
- Security Violations: Attempting to access other users' accounts, exploiting platform vulnerabilities, or sharing malicious code
- Illegal Activities: Using the platform for any illegal purpose, including but not limited to money laundering, intellectual property theft, or developing malicious applications
5. Content Guidelines
Profile Content: All profile information must be accurate, professional, and appropriate. Avoid misleading claims, inappropriate images, or content that violates intellectual property rights.
Job Postings: Job descriptions must clearly state requirements, deliverables, and compensation. Do not post jobs seeking illegal activities, containing discriminatory requirements, or offering unrealistic terms.
Communications: Keep all project-related communications professional and on-platform. Do not share inappropriate content, make threats, or use abusive language.
6. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately:
- Use the "Report" feature on any profile, job posting, or message
- Contact our support team with details of the incident
- Include relevant screenshots, messages, or documentation
All reports are treated confidentially. We prohibit retaliation against users who report violations in good faith. False reports made with malicious intent are themselves a violation of this code.
7. Enforcement
We take violations seriously and investigate all reports thoroughly. Consequences are proportional to the severity and frequency of violations:
- Warning: First-time minor violations typically receive a formal warning with guidance on expected behavior
- Temporary Suspension: Repeated violations or more serious misconduct may result in temporary account suspension (7-30 days)
- Permanent Ban: Severe violations, fraud, or continued misconduct after warnings will result in permanent removal from the platform
- Legal Action: In cases involving illegal activity, fraud, or significant harm, we may pursue legal remedies
Users may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting our support team within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by a senior team member not involved in the original decision.
